Counselling & Psychotherapy
Counselling and psychotherapy sessions offer you a confidential and safe setting in which to talk about life’s obstacles which may be confusing and painful. By confiding in someone who is trained to listen considerately, it may help to improve things.
It is a very personal process. Therapy may require you to talk about painful feelings and make difficult decisions, which might make you feel worse in the short-term. Usually it will take a number of counselling sessions before therapy starts to make a difference. However on rare occasions, a single session may be enough.
Therapy doesn’t work for everybody. But it is often worth the effort as you can be helped to work through problems. There are different methods and approaches to therapy, and our counsellor Trevor Lyon-Smith will be able to talk to you about his own methods of approach.
